February and March feel like a blur, which is maybe why I'm writing this in mid-April!
February kicked off with some Winterlicious dinners. This year, I checked out Mother Tongue, Nuna, and Lulu Bar. Nuna, which serves Peruvian food, was the stand-out for me. Every dish we ate there was interesting and special and I haven't shut up about it since.
I also finally went to Porzia's, which is known for its lasagna. I generally feel like most Italian spots are charging an arm and a leg for simple Italian dishes, but this place is not one of them. I would 100% say the lasagna skyscraper that you get served here is absolutely worth the trek and money. We also split a bunch of sides that were all delicious, and the actual environment was very cozy and well-designed.
I was also lucky to see a few concerts this winter: Toro y Moi, Charlotte Day Wilson, and Faye Webster. The Charlotte Day Wilson concert was with the TSO, and it was honestly magical. At the end of the final set, Charlotte ran off stage and up to the huge organ and played it while singing "Work." It was so cool!!
Mid-February, Luna had some issues that ended up with a few days of sleepless nights and a vet visit, but she's back to thriving and being chaotic. Right after that, I got sick most likely with COVID or another nasty flu. I feel fatigued from it still but the slightly nicer weather is helping with getting over the malaise.
In March, Rachelle and I did our annual Winter Stations trek, and this year was particularly good! Of course, it was brutally cold and windy at the beach during winter, but it's always a nice thing to do when it's still grey and desolate.

This month, I also hosted craft night at my place, and we played around with air-dry clay. I made a little sloppy egg and some fruits and veggies. The orange holds all my small earrings.

Movies

Obviously, I'm still watching a lot of movies. In no particular order, these are the ones that I really enjoyed over the last few months:
- Universal Langauge
- Goodfellas
- The Piano Teacher
- Hard Truths
- All About My Mother
- Prince of Broadway
Books
I have also been on track with my reading goals. I finished:
- Milk Fed by Melissa Broder
No Fault by Haley Mlotek - Rejection by Tony Tulathimutte.
Rejection was so funny, perverse, and weird that I can't stop thinking about it. I'm not sure if it's for everyone, but I was so into it.

Music
Maybe you saw CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso on Tiny Desk a few months ago, but they just released a short film that's sort of about that. It's so absurd, critical, surreal, self-aware and funny; it's worth a watch. And the music slaps, obviously. Let me be your CHAAAAAAAD!
I'm so looking forward to warmer weather and biking, it's been a looooooong winter!
