Summer in Review

Somehow, and I knew this would happen, summer flew by and I forgot to post any updates. I think that's a good thing though. This summer I was able to take a mini sabbatical from work and spent June, July and most of August catching up on life things and working on some mini projects that I had floating around in my head.

One fun thing I did was I designed and produced my own custom matchbooks 🔥 Basically, they are very expensive business cards, but I love seeing people's reactions when I give them one.

I also travelled A LOT: in May I went to Barcelona with my friend Rachelle for the OFFF Conference and for the pan con tomate. In June I went to Scotland with my dad and my sister as a belated birthday gift for his 60th birthday. In August I took the train to Montreal and spent time with so many different friends, it was really nice. And then finally, my sister and I finally made our trip to Tokyo at the beginning of September. We have tried to book this trip 3 separate times, but the pandemic and some life situations prevented us from going. On all these trips I brought my film camera, so I'll be posting those in the next few days.

Outside of all my travel, I spent the summer hopping around the free public pools that Toronto has, trying paddle boarding (and liking it despite my terrible core strength), biking around (I did the Brain for Health 70km ride) , did a ceramics class and just spent time outside. My new favourite Toronto addition is Biidaasige Park, it's such a beautiful space and I can't wait to spend more summers there.
